Exchanging
So, you travel, you meet people.
It is my favorite part of traveling. It might have been just a little time you crossed path with this person, but I have been able to stay in touch with my travel friends, as I believe if we are willing just giving a little bit of our daily time to others, then a new friendship will be born.
So, we exchanged thoughts ! From the very little daily life’s story to their greatest moments in life ! You open your heart to listen to this new friend, you appreciate the opportunity to meet a complete stranger whom may never cross path with you at all in your entire life.. Just for this reason, in the particular year, particular month, particular day and hours , minutes, seconds, you were there ! What a beautiful experience!
Perhaps, you talk about personal experience in life, your views or what can we all do for this beautiful world, your views in the art’s world, ( music, book, film, theatre plays, the food, the drinks…bla bla bla…)
so, you pick up the good music, book , artist , and expand your own world through the strangers you met. You may go back and start to search what they have brought into your life, the new names of a musician, the book you ought to read , the artist you ought to know more or just being happy as you were part of each other TINY little bit of each other life …
Or you may be just start to tell your friend about these new friends you met ..you introduce their music, their thoughts , their goal in life ..etc and along the way , you may have just have opened another door for them in their life!
I thank you my travel friends
“Serendipity”
What is the chances to meet someone along your travels but enjoyed the real moments of each other’s life, even just for that little while.
This is a little boy I met on the Amazon Boat trip. He was one of the little soul had touched my heart in one of my travels.
He was traveling home, one of the usual trip home with her mother . I was going to search my inspiration for the Indigenous life in Amazon. One of the world greatest Rain Forest . The boat trip, I wasn’t going to be on this very same boat with this little kid, I had a plan but I was persuaded by a Swiss Traveler, Sandra to leave Belém ,PA, Brasil with her. So, i did.
The little “Yes” from me, had brought me tons of meaningful moments for my Amazon Rain Forest trip. The plan was Belém – Manuas , the capital city of Amazonas state, well, the 1st “Yes” to Sandra had indeed changed my trip.
There was a little detour from Belém to Manuas; as my 2nd ” Yes” to my new travel friends met on the boat. I met Anna, (she became my Brasil travel companion later on the trip ) Frederick from Brittany, France, Jonathan and XX ( don’t remember her name ) from Paris , France. So, we were the Gringos and Gringas on this boat with the locals. They persuaded me to go to Alter do Chao, Santeram; so we all had a great time there . Anna, said good bye to others , we went separate way .
2nd ” Yes” obviously had brought me the opportunity to be on very same boat where I met this little boy. His name is Daniel.
He was 3 years old.
We did little drawings together, we laughed together , played hide and seek together. He would insisted to dance with me on the upper deck on the boat. I remember when I first saw him, he was quiet and lonely. But his big eyes were just stared straight into your souls. His big smiley face would have melt your heart. The only problem is I hardly speak , Brazilian, Portuguese. Bless Anna, she speaks perfect Portuguese. Through her , the barrier to know this little friend has disappeared.
Well, he was one of my little Portuguese teacher on this boat trip. He would make sure I actually pronounced the perfect Brazilian Portuguese. Even though he was only 3 years old. Sometimes, i did wonder if he actually speak the right word? But he taught me how to say “ Eu amo-te ” ( I LOVE YOU ) in Portuguese. He would come to me and just said “Eu amo-te” again and again..for this reason, i had taught him his very first few English words as well , ” I LOVE YOU ” !
well! once you taught a kid to say something, they would never stop repeating it..so, he carried on these little 3 magic words through out the boat journey until the day we said “good bye. “
I did wish i would be able to see him again ! I asked for his address, unfortunately , his mother is illiterate. The only contact I have was the scribbles from another Brazilian.
Daniel, even a little 3 years old had inspired me so much , he provided me the most endearing moments on this boat trip , he had given me more courage for my desires to help less unfortunate kids in the poor countries!
